FORTUNE, Laura – Event Rider
Laura is a freelance instructor currently based at Somerford Park Farm, Cheshire. In 2004 Laura was the British Intermediate Champion at Gatcombe. In the same year she also finished 14th at Blenheim Horse trials. In 2005, on her first attempt, she managed to finish 16th at Badminton – a truly remarkable feat! The hrose she currently competes on at advanced level is Hallo Again, a 16.3 10 year old chesnut gelding, owned by Laura and her mother Susan. Laura is trained by Chris Bartle and Jean davenport. She is a friendly and enthusiastic trainer both on the flat and over the jumps – and is very keen to use her experience to help the South Cheshire members.
GATHERCOLE, Sara - Quadrille Trainer
Sarah is a very experience flatwork trainer within the Riding Club in particularl Quadrille and Rural Riders. She competes in Dressage as well as judging.
HORSWILL, Janet – Dressage Rider
Janet is a freelance instructor based at Stapleford, Nr. Chester, Cheshire and is on the British Dressage Trainers Database. She is currently the British Dressage Northwest under 21 representative responsible for organising training for the young riders. Janet is a very successful dressage competitor training and riding her horses to compete at Advanced level at both Regional and National levels. She currently trains with Carl Hester, Ferdi Eilberg and Kalman de Jurenak. Janet was an extremely popular trainer for the club last year and has kindly agreed to do more for us in March – although this is already sold out as well!
JONES, Debbie
Debbie is a freelance instructor currently based at Allostock, Cheshire. Debbie is a British Dressage National 2* strainer. She has trained and competed her own horse successfully to Grand Prix level and although this horse is now semi-retired she has trained 2 more of her horses to compete at Prix St George level. In addition, Debbie is a List 2 Dressage Judge. Debbie is a popular trainer, very much in demand - some of those she has helped include the late Caroline Pratt and British Dressage team member Emma Hindle. Debbie trains with Carl Hester and Stephen Clarke. Her wealth of experience means that she is able to help with all types of horses and their problems providing encouragement and handy tips just when they are needed!
LEVITT, Bill
Bill is an Australian event rider and BE Accredited Trainer, who has had top ten placings at four star level. He’s a great teacher – very much of the encouraging stamp, not the shouting type! Bill has a great eye for how minor adjustments can bring huge improvements in the way your horse performs. He holds flatwork, show jumping and cross country clinics. Bill trains on the flat with Eric Thielguaard and has done for 10 years. Eric is Carl Hester’s trainer. Read here for more .....
PROBIN, Sarah
Sarah is a freelance instructor based at Chorley, Nr. Nantwich, Cheshire. Sarah is BHS qualified holding the BHSI (SM) Reg. Her background includes several years as an equine lecturer until she decided to specialise in Dressage. Since then she has achieved List 4 Dressage Judge status and says that her ambition is to reach list 1 in the future – a tough target requiring years of dedication, hard work and dreaded exams! Sarah has trained and competed her own horse up to Advance Medium level. She currently trains with Janet Horswill. She is keen to help all levels of riders bring the best out of their horses and themselves – in fact many of our members who participated in the club training with Sarah have gone on to train with her on a regular basis.
