Tugford Farm Horse holiday report August 2006
4 went on the horse holiday with their horses; Gill Ratcliffe, Moira Johnston, Liz Binns and Ann Mary Ware. Their experiences were:-
You don't know what you've missed. We expanded our horizons, its the closest to heaven the riders came to as we looked back over the plains of South Shropshire. Move your horse out of the rut "quote from Quartiero and Molly "galloping up the braken was billliant, we had a gear we didn't know we had". Flo is now a skilled gate closer. Elllie and Flo said "this fitness work beats going round in circles". Both hoses and riders came back with smiles on their faces. Nobody wanted to go home.
The accomodation and food + large stables was 5* in glorious countryside with no traffice. 80% of the riding was off road. Bron and Wyn (owners of Tudford farm) made your feel as if you were guests in their home for a weekend break.
Well worth a return visit. See below photos taken:-
Sometimes we spend so much time training and competing, we forget how to enjoy ourselves. If you wish to have stress-free, non pressurised time with your horse, how about going away for a long weekend. The magazine adverts, BHS Bed & Breakfast for Horses and internet have been scrutinised for suitable holidays on your behalf. The pre-requisite was fantastic riding, quality accommodation for up to 6 horse & riders at the same establishment, either self catering or B&B + dinner & no more than 2 hours drive away at a reasonable price. A short list of 3 has been selected for you in either Lancashire, Derbyshire or Shropshire.

It didn’t end there; we had a pretty courtyard to sit in, where we enjoyed a refreshing glass of wine after a shower. Then we were treated to the most delicious home cooked farm house supper. We travelled through grass land, untamed forests, bracken hillsides, moors and green valleys, passed ancient monuments, beautiful wild lakes and woodlands, all with unbelievable views”.
