HORSE TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIPS ASTON-LE-WALLS 7-9th August 2009

This year two teams qualified for the HT Championships at Aston-le-Walls. Our Novice team including Caroline Jones, Ruth Dalton, Lucy Bryden and Rebecca Hargreaves came 13th with Caroline Jone coming 3rd overall as an individual.

The intermediate team finished 2nd overall narrowly beaten by Carleton Club from Norfolk. Shirley and Sam Cadwallader both came 2nd in their arenas and Sally Hudson-Lund was 5th. Jan Davidson was also a member of the team. The road to success for the intermediate team did not go without a few bumps, when Jemarie Sullivan and Rachel Simpson's horses both went lame a week before the championships. However the club pulled together and produced an excellent result!!!

Well done to you all!!!

In July we sent a team of four to the Area 20 Dressage qualifier in Llanymynech.

Kate Dashper, Lucy Brydon, Sally Hudson-Lund and Celia Tebbs.

The team was placed 4th

Individual placings - Sally came 5th

Lucy won her arena and went on to compete at the BRC Dressage Championship held at Lincoln Showground on 12th September.

In August the Area 20 Dressage to Music qualifier was held at Walford College.

Sally Hudson-Lund won the Novice warm-up class then competed in the Novice Freestyle to Music and came 2nd.  Sally had never done a music competition before - it was a big learning curve, and much work had been put into it - which paid off on the day.  Sally's horse, Tiamo, was a bit surprised at the loudness of the music at first - but really rose to the occasion and did a great routine.

Gill Ratcliffe and Jinny Davies competed in the Pairs Dressage to Music and won.  Their horses, Quartieo & Teapot, worked brilliantly together and put on a fine display to Abba music.  Congratulations to Gill and Jinny who came 2nd at BRC National Championships to be held at Addington Manor, Bucks on 3rd October.
